Three of the six weeks of filming were done on the Isle of Man. These
shots were mainly the exterior moor scenes.
Ballakillowey, Colby
Some of the moorland scenes were shot just above where I live at
Ballakillowey, near Colby. Thanks Rob for your submission.
Ballaugh Old Church, Ballaugh
The church where they're singing Christmas carols is Ballaugh old church.
Thanks Denise for your submission.
Druidale
Hound of the Baskervilles. The moorland scene where a small tent was erected
and an archaeological dig was supposed to be taking place was filmed off the
Brandwell Road near the cattle grid at about SC 364 864. I drove past whilst
they were filming. The strangely shaped tree-planting areas above the Druidale
Road can be clearly seen in the background.
Thanks David for this detailed submission.
Glen Maye
Jurby
Levens Hall, Levens, Kendal, Cumbria
Pretty sure the exterior shots of Baskerville Hall (topiary garden) are the
famous topiary garden at Levens Hall, Levens, Kendal, Cumbria. They are very
distinctive.
Many thanks Frances Bowers for your submission.
