STORYLINE SYSNOPSIS |
Set in North Wales during the 1930's depression. Charlie Pritchard
is a humble bank clerk, who dreams of the world beyond his local mining
town of Permadoc. While lodging with the bank manager, Evans and his family;
Charlie finds himself attracted to Evan's daughter Ida, a quiet, but
intelligent girl. Ida and Charlie
seem to understand one another and begin a secret relationship, but
it cannot last. Charlie still craves the action and excitement of life
and finds himself drawn to the Rainbow Cafe. There he falls for the
charms of Delphine from Latin America. Completely under her spell
Charlie gets caught up in a bank robbery plan, which can only end
