ChasmsAlong the coast near the village of Cregneash is an impressive collection of fissures cut deep into the cliffs. There is a pretty long walk downhill to the coast. Once you pass through the gate, you are entering the chasms and need to watch where you walk. There are well defined paths formed over time by lots of walkers, but take care over loose rock. LocationThe Chasms are located in the southwest of the Island near the village of Cregneash. Go through Cregneash and up the hill. Parking at the top of the hill, but the rest must be walked down the other side of the hill towards the sea.By Vehicle: Head to Port St Mary, then take the A31 from Port St Mary to Cregneash. Follow the road through Cregneash and up a steep hill. There is parking at the top of the hill. By Bus: Cregneash is served by the no. 1 bus route from Douglas, Castletown, Port Erin and Port St Mary. By Railway: Travel on the Electric Railway to Douglas and then on the Stream Railway to Port St Mary. Take the no. 1 bus route from Port St Mary to Cregneash. |
