SUBMISSIONS |
Dave Wallis, from Long Eaton, Nottingham, runs his own computerised embroidery
business "Extreme Logos". He has many years experience racing both solos and
sidecars, and first competed at the IOM TT in 1991 in the
supersport 400 class. His best TT result on the F2
sidecar was in 1995 when he finished 8th and 9th. A former top-runner at
National level, Dave returned to F2 sidecar racing after a significant break
from the sport, just 2 weeks before the 2004 TT!
Unfortunatly this meant Dave and Sally were given a very poor number (80!) for
the TT. But Dave soon proved the powers that be wrong by
lapping at 100mph+ by mid practice week, which earned the pair a number change
to 28 before race A.
Sally Wilson is a biomedical scientist from Castleford, West Yorkshire. She
began racing as a sidecar passenger in 2001, and has competed on both F1 and F2
machines. Her racing ambitions are to be a top-level competitor and acheive
podium finishes at the British championship and the TT.
2004 was Sally's first TT, and given that she and Dave had
only competed at one club meeting previous to this made winning bronze replicas
in both races and lapping at 103.23mph (with a standard engine) even more of an
acheivement.
Dave and Sally are competing on the ex-Team Lockside Shelbourne chassis, powered
by a Honda CBR 600 RR fuel injection engine. This year they will be contesting
the remaining rounds of the FSRA/ACU British F2 Sidecar championship, and also
racing at Oliver's Mount road circuit at Scarborough, Yorkshire.
Dave and Sally are seeking sponsorship.
Many thanks to Sally for this submission about herself and David Wallis (20
June 2004) |
