Ian Armstrong, age 24 going on 34, probably the best road racer in the UK
without a major sponsor.
Started circuit racing in 1994, winning 3 club championships in first year. Took
two silvers at MGP in 95, first TT in 96, top 10 finish in British Production Championship in
98 (on a Triumph!), first Bronze Replica in the 99, wins at Scarborough Spring
National and Gold Cup, and now collected 13 Bronze Replicas and 3 Silver at TT.
His race average 119mph in 2004 Formula was probably the fastest ever Bronze
replica! Fastest lap now 121mph on 2004 R1 right out of the box - absolutely
standard.
Following 2004 TT successes, took 4th place at Skerries on first ever visit and
after just 5 practice laps.
Please tell David, Mr Cretney Sir, that we would appreciate an invite next year
- it's a costly business taking part in TT!
Many thanks to Roger for this submission (12 July 2004) |
