Just to submit some info about myself and last 2 years of racing at the MGP. I
only started racing to compete in the IOM. Raced mainly in F400, with 5 short
circuit wins and a 3rd in 1999 Auto 66 championship.Entered newcomers and senior
in 2002, starting number 8 on a Triumph 955i. Unfortunately crashed and damaged
the Triumph (sorry Pinky!) on final test at Anglesea, so bought a Ducati 916
road bike the week before so wouldn't miss out. The lights were literally just
taped up....finished 19th with a replica in newcomers, and had tyre problems in
Senior finishing 53rd. Fastest lap of 103.87.
In 2003 bought a GSXR600K1, but more bad luck ... on stripping it down the frame
was cracked and no come back, so borrowed a '98 standard GSXR600 (cheers Roo)
and another year on an uncompetitive bike. It was dynoed at 90bhp! Still it
handled great with Maxton shock and forks ... fantastic. Couldn't believe I got
replicas in Junior and Senior and lapped at 108.89 on an old nail.
Not there this year as bought a house, but hope to make a return to Mona's Isle
at some point. Wouldn't have ever made it to the IOM without the support of my
brother 'Dubsie', Si Perkin, Andrew 'Roo' Wightman, and George and Stevie as pit
crew.
Many thanks to Tim for this submission about himself (24 August 2004) |
